Xiaomi YU7 Set to Launch on May 22 as a High-Performance Luxury SUV

Xiaomi is officially stepping deeper into the electric vehicle market with the unveiling of its second EV model—the Xiaomi YU7, a luxury high-performance SUV. The launch will take place during Xiaomi’s 15th Anniversary Strategy Product Launch event on May 22.

Like the Xiaomi SU7, the YU7 is designed with performance and handling in mind, offering several drivetrain configurations to meet various driving needs. Based on Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) filings, the YU7 will come in three distinct powertrain options:

Dual-Motor High-Performance AWD

• Front Motor: 220 kW

• Rear Motor: 288 kW

• Combined Output: 508 kW (691 horsepower)

• Top Speed: 253 km/h

• Battery: Ternary lithium

Dual-Motor Standard AWD

• Front Motor: 130 kW

• Rear Motor: 235 kW

• Combined Output: 365 kW

• Top Speed: Expected ~240 km/h

Single-Motor Rear-Wheel Drive

• Rear Motor Only: 235 kW

• Top Speed: 240 km/h

• Battery: Lithium iron phosphate

These variants ensure the YU7 appeals to a wide audience—from performance enthusiasts to efficiency-minded drivers.

Variants Expected: Standard, Pro, and Max

Although detailed configurations are yet to be officially confirmed, industry insiders expect the YU7 to offer Standard, Pro, and Max trims, much like the SU7 lineup. Rumors of a YU7 Ultra performance model also persist, but Xiaomi has yet to confirm.
