XPeng MONA M03 Max Officially Launches with Smart AI Driving System

On May 28, XPeng officially launched the MONA M03 Max, introducing two versions priced between ¥129,800–¥139,800 (approximately $17,900–$19,300). Alongside the Max models, XPeng also released the 515km Long Range Plus and the 620km Ultra Long Range Plus versions, priced at ¥119,800 and ¥129,800 (around $16,500 and $17,900), respectively.

Stylish and Aerodynamic Exterior

The XPeng MONA M03 Max maintains the brand’s Smart Design AI aesthetics with a minimalist, dynamic exterior. A closed-off front fascia integrates an AGS active air intake grille, enhancing both aerodynamics and visual sophistication. The signature "010" LED star-pattern headlights boost front-end recognition, paired with aggressively styled front bumper contours.

In addition to existing colors like Galaxy Beige, Midnight Black, and Nebula White, three new exterior shades—Star Twilight Purple, Micro-Moon Grey, and Star Rain Green—are now available.

Sleek Side Profile with Urban Appeal

The fastback body design and flowing waistline, extending from front to rear, are enhanced by hidden door handles for a sleek, modern appearance. Subtly flared wheel arches create a wide-body look, boosting the sporty character. The recessed door panels, blacked-out side skirts, and 18-/19-inch alloy wheels add to its fashionable urban aesthetic.

A unique feature is the AI Blue Light on the exterior mirrors, which signals to surrounding drivers when autonomous driving is active. With an ultra-low drag coefficient of 0.194Cd, the MONA M03 Max benefits from enhanced aerodynamic efficiency. Dimensions are 4780mm (length), 1896mm (width), 1445mm (height), and a 2815mm wheelbase.

Storage zones are positioned beneath for small items like phones or drinks, while the strip-style air vents visually widen the cabin. A 1.22m² panoramic sunroof brightens the interior, while an 18-speaker system supports 7.1.4 surround sound, delivering a cinematic audio experience.

Ambient lighting spans 1.35m and supports 256-color control, enhancing the cabin’s nighttime vibe. The driver's seat features triple airbag lumbar support, heating, ventilation, memory, and welcome functions. Rear seatbacks recline an extra 5 degrees for added comfort.

Powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chip, the full-featured AI Tianji system supports wide-ranging features such as Smart SR (Scene Recognition), panoramic imaging, advanced gesture control, multi-zone voice interaction, and OTA updates. Compared to the 2024 version, over 300 new functions have been added, with 30% more scene-based use cases now covered.

XPeng's AI digital assistant "AI Xiao P" leverages large language models, vision understanding, and image generation to offer a smarter and more intuitive human-machine interface.

The XPeng MONA M03 Max delivers top-tier intelligent driving features in its price segment. It comes equipped with 27 sensors: 11 cameras, 3 millimeter-wave radars, and 12 ultrasonic radars, processed by dual Nvidia Drive Orin-X chips delivering 508 TOPS of computing power.

It supports comprehensive autonomous driving functions through XPeng’s Turing AI system and AI Tianji. Features include city navigation assist, highway pilot, AI valet cruise, and intelligent parking. Adaptive cruise handles stop-and-go traffic smoothly, while active alerts and braking respond to sudden obstacles like pedestrians or cyclists. On highways, the vehicle can autonomously change lanes for efficient overtaking.

Efficient Performance and Range Options

Under the hood, a 160kW permanent magnet synchronous motor delivers 250Nm of torque and a 0–100km/h acceleration in 7.4 seconds. Two battery options are offered: a 51.8kWh pack for a 502km CLTC range and a 62.2kWh pack extending to 600km. Energy consumption is as low as 11.8kWh per 100 kilometers, making it one of the most efficient EVs in its class.
